Join a 12-week journey where men gather in truth, heal in community, and rise with purpose.
Imbizo ya Madoda is more than just a gathering, it is a movement of transformation, healing, and restoration for men. Born out of a deep burden for broken families and fractured communities, it calls men back to the heart of who they are created to be: leaders, protectors, and providers.
“Imbizo” means a gathering, but in our context, it’s sacred. It’s where men sit in a circle, not in hierarchy, and speak honestly about their struggles, victories, and desires to become more. It’s not church. It’s not therapy. It’s truth-telling, purpose-finding, and soul-restoring work, done in community.
We exist because South Africa’s history has left deep wounds — especially among black men. Years of systemic poverty, broken homes, crime, fatherlessness, and internalized shame have left many drifting without direction. Imbizo ya Madoda is our response: a place where men can heal, find dignity, and rise again.
If you’re tired of walking alone, if you’re ready to rebuild, if you long for brotherhood that sharpens and strengthens, Imbizo ya Madoda is for you. One circle. One voice. One man at a time. Join us, and be part of a generation that restores the meaning of manhood.
To restore the heart of manhood by helping men reclaim identity, live with dignity, and lead with purpose
At Imbizo ya Madoda, every gathering is more than an event, it’s a moment of restoration, truth, and transformation. From townships to city corners, men are rising to reclaim their identity, rebuild their families, and lead with purpose. Below are highlights from recent imbizos, showing how real change is taking root in our communities, one circle, one voice, one man at a time.
Imbizo ya Madoda hosted its second men's dialogue on 7 June 2025, coinciding with Men’s Health Month. Held at the Katlehong Resource Centre, the event engaged an overflowing audience from Ramokonopi and surrounding areas, uniting community members in a powerful conversation about identity and character. The event was backed by faith leaders, business professionals, and legal advocates, including Pastor Goodwill Mkhavhele, Newton Baloyi, and Adv. Doc Mashabane
In a bold step toward economic restoration, Imbizo ya Madoda has partnered with several local businesses to open real job placement opportunities for men completing the 12-week program. From trades like welding and bricklaying to entry-level administrative support and retail roles, these partnerships are turning healing into hiring, and restoring dignity through work.
Participating businesses have committed not just to offering employment, but to becoming part of the broader restoration journey. “We’re not just filling positions,” said one local partner. “We’re investing in men who are showing up, stepping up, and ready to rebuild their lives.”
17 May 2025 will be remembered as the day men didn’t just attend an event, they answered a call. The inaugural Imbizo ya Madoda, held at KLCC, gathered men across generations to confront truth, receive healing, and step boldly into renewed manhood.
From men in their twenties to elders in their sixties, the event overflowed with hunger for purpose, identity, and transformation. Speakers ignited the atmosphere with powerful truths: Pastor Goodwill Mkhavhele opened with surgical precision, Pastor Ray Sono spoke with fatherly fire, Archbishop B.W. Makwakwa restored dignity, and Adv. Doc Mashabane unpacked leadership and manhood with brutal honesty. Mr. Matsididi brought economic wisdom, while MP Ms. Tsholofelo Bodlani delivered a powerful charge on gender-based violence, a rare but welcomed voice in a men’s space.
Together, we build opportunity.
Imbizo ya Madoda is more than a message, it’s a movement in motion. From powerful orientation sessions to community dialogues and partner activations, every gathering is a step toward healing, purpose, and impact. Stay updated and be part of what’s next.
Imbizo ya Madoda is proud to announce the official launch of its first 12-week cohort. On the 28th July 2025, we begin with an Orientation Day — a momentous milestone that marks the start of a powerful journey for men ready to heal, grow, and lead with purpose.
This inaugural intake will participate in a structured program that moves through four key pillars:
Eyes – Vision & Purpose
Heart – Identity & Character
Mind – Wisdom & Knowledge
Hands – Skills & Dignity of Work
Orientation Day will set the tone, offering an overview of what to expect, meeting the facilitators, and grounding the group in shared values and commitment. It's not just an introduction, it’s the beginning of transformation.
At Imbizo ya Madoda, transformation speaks for itself. These are not actors or rehearsed stories, they’re real men, with real struggles, who found real change. From healing past wounds to discovering purpose and stepping into leadership, these testimonials reflect the power of what happens when men gather with truth and intention.
Your donation helps us create safe spaces for men to heal, grow, and rebuild their lives with purpose. By supporting Imbizo ya Madoda, you're investing in restored families, empowered communities, and the transformation of one man at a time. Every contribution counts.
